Can someone explain double exposure to me? You expose one side of the film the first time while it's in the camera, right? So how do you expose the other side.
I apologize if this question has been asked before or if it's a newbie-type question.
thanks

You don't expose the otherside(film only has emulsion on one side)--you simply expose the emulsion twice. Don't confuse this with DuobleSuper8 or Reg8 where you run the film through twice(both of those formats used a film that is 16mm wide). Good Luck

There's a difference between exposing super8 and regular 8mm? Sorry I'm a total newbie when it comes to film. Can someone explain the procedures with both formats because I think I do have them confused.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thank you very much. That did help a lot. So I guess then my question was referring to regular 8mm. I just didn't know there was a difference. Thanks for clarifying it for me.

Here is the story--Reg8 is 16mm film that has twice as many sproket holes(80 to the foot). You run it through the camera which exposes one side either Right or Left. Then when the camera has run that you rethread the camera to expose the other side Left or Right. DoubleSuper8 is like Reg8 but it has the same perferations as Super8(72 to the foot). Super8 comes in a little cartridge that you pop right into the camera and go. I hope that helps.
